Maybe Ren shouldn't trust Akechi so easily, after everything. So much happened between them; nobody would blame him if he never even wanted to see Akechi again, that he only worked with him against Maruki because it was the only option.

But, even without his Personas, he can feel the Justice thrumming warmly with trust. A sign that their bond, however complicated, is alive and well. Even during their lowest moments, it never broke.

"I'll hold you to that," he hums, closing his eyes. This world... it'd be easy to shed the uneasy history between them. A fresh start indeed.

But Ren doesn't really want that. Their history together is part of them, too. That is what they chose when they defeated Maruki.
