"Watch it!" Akechi snaps, still flailing his wings. It's too dark to make out anything more than pointed ears and fur against his... feathers. He really has feathers.

He's a bird.

Oh, the irony is not lost on him.

Still, with some effort, he slowly, if shakily, hovers out of the water. As he does so, he stares down at the cat, larger than him, because of course it is.

And it's... drowning.

Damn it all. He should fend for himself, but the mere sight gives him a painful, twisting sort of feeling. Guilt? Over a stranger?

Reluctantly, he moves closer, flexing his toes. It's questionable if he'd even be able to lift a larger creature, but fine.

He'll grab at the scruff of the cat's neck and try.
