Its a moment of dissonance between them- Terra is home to fierce disasters, ones that could wipe out a continent in a day. Flamebringer has no way of knowing what kind of disaster he could bring. Maybe it would be a very personal disaster, maybe he could control it. But if it was something out of his control- something that could bring a lot of collateral.
He might not have any personal attachment to these people- but that didn't mean he wanted to abruptly wipe them off the map.
But all of that was hypothetical, he didn't even think this was a power he had.
"Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't. Either way. That's not something I can do."
His eyes narrow. Crap, as irritating as this fool is, he's not wrong. IF he does possess the power to control catastrophes, it would be better to know, then to not know. Maybe not for such a noble purpose as this person beside him- but he still could admit, decimating the place that had willingly taken him in without question was a bad move... and the idea of wiping out so many, in such a way, left a bad taste in his mouth.
"... Good for you." He says after a pause. Continuing to walk away. His altruism of no interest to him, nor his disinterest in preserving his own life. And if he was going to discover these powers- he was going to do it out of the public eye. Not to satisfy this stranger.
Tch, he scoffs. He knew the answer to that one. He'd made his bed with being feared and outcast long ago. But this place... it was strange to think of how much was the same, and yet so different.
There were no halls with his face plastered to them, warnings and bounty detailed bellow. No sankta hunting him down like an insane, dangerous beast. At least not yet.
